The Turbine Transition

The Turbine Transition course is designed to introduce a pilot to larger turbine powered helicopters and the challenges associated with flying a turbine engine aircraft.

Ground instruction includes information on turbine helicopters, engines, and their systems. Flight instruction includes maximum performance takeoffs, autorotations, off airport maneuvers, and emergency procedures. The course is taught on the Bell 206 Jet Ranger BIII helicopter.

Advanced Helicopter Concepts requires students to hold at least a PPL(H) before taking this transition course.
