Additional Courses
Before instructing in the Robinson, you will need 200 hours in helicopters. If you complete our professional pilot program in less than 200 hours (Which many students do), you may want to spend your remaining time completing one or more of our optional courses. These courses are designed to prepare you for some of the types of flying that you may experience in your career as a helicopter pilot.
Courses include 5-7 hours of flight and ground instruction.
External-Load
This course focuses on the fundamentals of external-load operations, including safety issues and applicable regulations.

Aerial Photography Operations
This course is an introduction to some of the considerations of the commercial pilot and avoiding potential hazards associated with aerial photography.

Advanced Commercial Maneuvers
You will learn how to fly the helicopter safely and efficiently while providing a valued service to your client. (This course begins at 8W2)

Robinson R44 Transition
Includes ground training and 15 hours of flight time in a R-44

Mountain Flying Course
The Mountain Flying Course is now being offered from Advanced Helicopter Concepts. We would love for you to gain valuable flying experience from our Satellite Base nestled in the Shenandoah Valley. We offer a wide range of services. There are three different packages for flying in the beautiful mountains:
